Senior Officer, Tenders and Grants Administration

About the Role

This role involves overseeing the application and administration of competitive tenders and grants awards. You will collaborate with faculties and research teams to develop tender or grant applications by providing guidance on proposal writing and formatting.

You will be responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on tender and grant proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy and compliance with grant award guidelines.

This is a full-time continuing position that offers flexible work arrangements and a range of benefits including generous leave entitlements and staff discounts.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee the application, submission, central administration and management of competitive tenders and grants awards.
  • Collaborate and support faculties/institutes and research teams to develop competitive tender or grant application by providing guidance on proposal writing, formatting and adherence to funding agency requirements.
  • Review and provide feedback on tender and grant proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy and compliance with grant award guidelines.
  • Assist in the administration of awarded tenders and grants, including progress updates and reporting.
  • Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the university's tenders and grant application and administration processes.

Your Requirements

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a busy, complex, administrative environment as part of a hardworking and collaborative team.
  • Experience interpreting policies, guidelines and procedures, reviewing and editing documentation against eligibility requirements and providing clear, concise advice or constructive feedback to clients.
  • Experience in the use of research or other comparable databases and a high level of competence in using standard office computing applications.
