Role Overview
Australian Red Cross is a leading humanitarian organisation that supports and empowers people and communities in times of vulnerability. We are currently seeking a skilled Humanitarian Resettlement Specialist to join our team.
About the Role
This role will provide quality case management and resettlement assistance to eligible refugees and humanitarian entrants in the Humanitarian Settlement Program. You will be responsible for providing tailored case management to clients, recognising their individual strengths and needs, and assisting new arrivals build the skills and knowledge they need to become self-reliant and active members of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality case management support to clients
- Holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments and developing effective case plans and safety planning
- Work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced grief, loss, torture, and trauma
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including statutory and law enforcement agencies
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Previous experience in providing high-quality case management support
- Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse client groups
- Sound understanding of social and political issues impacting migrants in transition
- Effectiveness in contributing to interagency collaboration and ability to lead collaboration, advocate and network with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
You must possess an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level 5 Diploma with units related to case management or working with vulnerable people. For clients referred to Specialised and Intensive Services (Tier 3), Case Managers must have a minimum of one of the following qualifications: Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Psychological Services.
Salary and Benefits
