Disaster Recovery Specialist

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Disaster Recovery Specialist to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans. This critical role plays a vital part in safeguarding our organization's resilience by ensuring that we can quickly recover from disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans aligned with organizational needs and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular testing and updates of recovery plans to ensure their effectiveness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT and business units to identify and prioritize critical systems and data assets.
  • Work closely with the IT team to ensure that backup and recovery procedures are in place and effective.
  • Provide comprehensive training on disaster recovery and business continuity procedures to key stakeholders and system owners, enhancing organizational resilience and readiness.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to align disaster recovery plans with service level agreements.
  • Participate in risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices in disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on the status of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation, with expertise in backup and recovery procedures, business continuity planning, and risk management. Industry certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) certification are highly valued.
