About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a part-time casual Wayside and On-Board Service Professional. The role is based in Perth, Australia.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To work collaboratively with our System Support team and complete tasks assigned by the Team Lead.
  2. To provide assistance to other engineers with projects, generate obsolescence reports and support, and assist in client reporting.
  3. To attend site as required, follow instructions, take initiative, and contribute ideas.
  4. To be available to work on an ad-hoc basis with flexible hours and varied tasks.
  5. To support help desk activities for remote and centralized maintenance activities.
  6. To monitor signalling system component lifecycles and supply chain data to identify potential obsolescence issues.
  7. To collaborate with engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams for obsolescence management.
  8. To investigate and resolve complex obsolescence issues with minimal disruption to production and operations.
  9. To seek and implement innovative solutions to extend product lifespans and minimize obsolescence impact.
  10. To maintain obsolescence tracking tools and generate regular reports.
  11. To liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to anticipate lifecycle changes.
  12. To assist the team leader with internal and external reporting requirements.
  13. To participate in team meetings, workshops, and training initiatives.
  14. To ensure all activities comply with applicable HSE laws and policies, including reporting safety incidents per Company procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Railway Signalling Systems.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Software Systems, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Product expertise in critical signalling wayside, onboard, and train control systems/equipment.
  • Familiarity with BOM management tools and obsolescence databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent time management and professionalism.
