About the Role
The Mine Geologist is responsible for gathering, coordinating, and communicating all geological data at our Mungari underground mines. This role involves working closely with the Senior and Project Geologist to contribute to the design and coordination of diamond drilling, providing data for low-risk mine design and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate detailed underground mapping and sampling
- Manage mine data entry, ore tracking, EOM and stope reconciliations
- Conduct daily visits to ROM pads to reconcile stockpiles
- Carry out detailed geological and structural core logging
- Accept responsibility for holes logged and the QA/QC validation of the drillholes
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced Geologist with prior mining geology experience and have the following attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geosciences
- 2-3 years industry experience – mine geology (underground preferred) and grade control practices
- Understanding of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
- Understanding of geology work standards and practices
- Intermediate skills with modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog or similar) and database software (acQuire or similar)
- Contractor management and familiarity with mine planning is an advantage.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills.
