About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Geologist to join our team at the Mount Monger Operation. As a key member of our geological team, you will be responsible for undertaking diamond core processing, logging, and sampling, as well as assisting with underground mapping and sampling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process diamond core, including logging, mark-up, and orientation, core cutting, and sampling
  • Assist with underground mapping and sampling
  • Participate in open pit mine geology, including ore spotting and sampling
  • Develop strong working relationships with other departments, contractors, and colleagues
  • Update the database with geological and assay information
  • Validate geological data
  • Ensure effective communication through regular reporting
About You

We are looking for a collaborative and practical individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for excellence. You should be an enthusiastic, hardworking, and motivated individual who is eager to learn from the best. Your can-do attitude and attention to detail will ensure that all grade control, exploration, sampling, and data collection are carried out to the highest standard.

You should have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology
  • A current C-class WA driver's license
  • The ability to follow safety rules and regulations
  • Good physical health and the ability to work in an underground environment
  • Organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Effective communication skills with staff at all levels
  • Vacation work experience in the mining industry, preferably in gold mining, is highly regarded
