We have partnered with a leading Australian manufacturing company to recruit a permanent full-time Cost Accountant to join their dynamic finance function.

">About The Role

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for cost accounting functions, identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Your role will include delivering accurate reports, analysing costs, partnering with operational teams, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and performing month-end close activities.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, variance analysis and commentary.
  • Analyse and monitor standard costs, labour usage, material usage and overheads, identifying variances and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights that drive cost control, efficiency and performance outcomes.
  • Support the development of budgets and forecasts for manufacturing cost centres and operational planning.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations and internal reporting in line with business timelines.
">What We're Looking For
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, with Chartered Accountant/CPA qualification.
  • Proven experience in a cost accounting or manufacturing finance role.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a process improvement mindset.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; SAP experience highly regarded.
