Geotechnical Engineer Job Description:

SLR Consulting APAC has a team of multi-disciplinary professionals who work with clients across Australia on a range of Geotechnical and Tailings Dam projects.

We have a career opportunity for an ambitious engineer with 2-6 years' experience, looking to take an important step in their early career. You will be working with a supportive team of engineering geologists, civil and geotechnical engineers who are leaders in their field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with preparing tenders and proposals
  • Providing technical advice to clients and colleagues
  • Carrying out geotechnical investigations and characterisation
  • Engineering geological and geomorphological terrain evaluation
  • Landslide / Slope Risk Assessment
  • Slope Stability Analysis
  • Ground Improvement and Remediation Design
  • Tailings Dam design, management, and operation
  • Instrumentation and monitoring data interpretation
  • Construction QA/QC
  • Project Management and delivery
Requirements:
  • Between 2-6 years' hands-on experience with tertiary qualifications in Geology, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • An excellent attitude and ability to work within a dynamic environment
  • Well-developed creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Motivation for continuous improvement and professional development
