Job Description

We are seeking a part-time nurse to provide comprehensive specialist nursing care, clinical expertise and leadership in our community service. The successful candidate will apply advanced practice knowledge in clinical areas relevant to community nursing, including wound care, catheter care, stoma care and insulin management.

The Clinical Nurse will manage clinical workload, ensure effective communication with clients and carers, and provide consulting and coaching to staff on specific cases or aspects of clinical practice.

This role requires the ability to maintain high standards of clinical practice within the service/program, implement best practice problem solving methodology when addressing individual actions which cause concern, and contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced practice knowledge in clinical areas relevant to community nursing.
  • Manage clinical workload, including care plans, referrals and provision of services.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients and carers.
  • Provide consulting and coaching to staff on specific cases or aspects of clinical practice.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice within the Service/Program.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current National Police Certificate.
  • Current Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle.
  • Degree in Nursing.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Current AHPRA registration and evidence of recent practice.
  • Postgraduate qualification in nursing clinical practice applicable to community nursing desirable.
