Locum Mental Health Nurse Position Available

We are seeking a dedicated mental health nurse for a minimum 12-week contract in regional and remote locations across Australia.

As a locum mental health nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care across all divisions of mental health nursing, including community, inpatient, acute, and more.

Responsibilities include case management, planning patient care, administering medication, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining precise documentation.

This position offers the chance to make a real impact in small communities, providing front-line emergency care where it's needed most, while experiencing some of the country's most unique and beautiful locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, holistic emergency care in small hospital settings, managing a broad spectrum of presentations.
  • Perform triage using the Australian Triage Scale (ATS).
  • Respond confidently to a wide range of presentations, from walk-ins to trauma, acute medical events, and general health concerns.
  • Provide comprehensive patient care in facilities that may also include aged care beds and subacute care, requiring adaptability to various patient needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA without restrictions.
  • A minimum of 5 years in mental health nursing, particularly in case management.

  • Transportation requirements may vary based on location.
