Global Supply Chain Optimisation Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned logistics professional with a commercial mindset to drive optimisation of global supply chains.

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will take full ownership of local and international logistics processes, negotiating competitive shipping rates and building strong provider relationships to drive innovation in freight and warehouse strategies.
  • As a strategic partner, they will streamline supply chain operations and help close profitable deals by solving complex logistics challenges.
Key Responsibilities
  • To source highly competitive spot and contract rates across key trade routes (Australia, Asia, Turkey & Europe).
  • To build and maintain a strong network of freight, warehousing, and haulage providers.
  • To oversee logistics processes from cargo booking through to delivery, ensuring optimal service, documentation accuracy, and proactive risk management.
  • To drive logistics-led commercial solutions that support sales strategies and long-term contracts.
  • To lead reporting on freight trends, market forecasts, risks, and pricing strategies.
  • To standardise rate sheets and logistics SOPs to support the commercial and operational teams.
  • To minimise loading failures and improve overall freight efficiency and service quality.
  • To support ERP enhancements for improved logistics workflows and reporting accuracy.
  • To deliver training to internal stakeholders on logistics processes, compliance, and terminology.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in forwarding or logistics management with a commercial edge.
  • Proven experience across ocean freight supply chain roles; ideally 3+ years leading teams.
  • Exposure to FP&A and business modelling is advantageous.
  • A background in business development or commodity trading is a strong plus.
