Primary Healthcare Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Primary Healthcare Specialist to join our medical team in a culturally sensitive environment. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality primary healthcare services to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our established medical team to deliver safe and quality trauma-informed primary healthcare services. You will provide comprehensive initial and continuing care across all age groups and levels of acuity, working closely with a capable team of Indigenous Health Workers and Nurses.

You will commit to building trust with patients, facilitating shared decision-making, and improving the continuity and quality of care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient medical histories, including upkeep of medical records and specialist referrals, assisted by a dedicated Medical Reception Team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Fellowed Medical Practitioner registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Skilled in comprehensive and culturally appropriate care.
  • Good knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule and Medicare compliance.
  • Awareness of the influence of key factors on Indigenous health and wellbeing, including cultural identity, family and kinship, country and caring for country, language, knowledge and beliefs.
