Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other teaching teams to develop effective unit curricula and learning materials.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optometric practice, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other teaching teams in the Optometry program, School and Faculty to develop effective unit curricula and learning materials.
  • Apply industry, clinical practice management knowledge and experience into student learning experiences, success, engagement and development of resources.
  • Deliver effective teaching practices within units and suggest approaches to innovate teaching practices, applying latest industry, clinical practice management knowledge to improve student success and engagement.
  • Deliver the optometric practice and business management unit.
  • Provide high quality and timely administrative and practice management service activities in Deakin's Collaborative Eye Care Clinic.
  • Provide academic support to students within units and courses and work collaboratively to improve student support services to optimise student outcomes.
  • Develop effective assessment tasks and rubrics at unit level. Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes.
