Job Description

We are a prominent tourist attraction situated at the summit of Mount Dandenong, boasting breathtaking views of the city and surrounding mountains. Our picturesque English-style garden, expansive beer garden, maze, and versatile function rooms make our work environment truly exceptional.

We are seeking experienced and passionate hospitality professionals to join our team during an exciting period of growth. We require part-time or casual staff with prior experience in similar roles, particularly in bistro and function services. If you are under 19, full training can be provided, and experience is not necessary.

Our restaurant operates at high volumes, often requiring up to 20 staff members to ensure seamless service. This presents an excellent opportunity for candidates to advance their skills, learn from experienced colleagues, and develop their expertise in various areas of the business.

About The Role:

  • You will assist supervisors in maintaining the smooth operation of the cafe, bistro, bar, and events.
  • Take customer orders, run food, clear tables, and seat customers in the evening restaurant.
  • Prepare drinks, including cocktails, at the bar.
  • Make coffees, milkshakes, and smoothies for both dine-in customers and takeaway.
  • Serve loyal customers, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Process bistro orders at the till and manage ticket sales for the SkyHigh Maze.
  • Handle phone sales, prioritizing bookings and communicating effectively with customers and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with chefs and bistro supervisors to ensure efficient service and satisfied customers.

About You:

  • You must be confident in your ability to provide improved service and train effectively as part of a cohesive team.
  • Be able to learn quickly and master multiple areas of service.
  • Prior experience in high-volume cafes or large function venues is beneficial.
  • You must hold a valid Australian Driver's License.
  • Proficiency with till systems, dockets, and prior exposure to restaurant booking systems is advantageous.
  • You should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be willing to multitask and have a keen eye for detail.
  • Aptitude for great food and service is essential.
  • Hardworking and positive attitude required.
