Animal Welfare Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Welfare Professional to join our Crisis Support Programs team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality animal-related services, maintaining effective communication with clients, community members, and human welfare agencies, and promoting the well-being of animals in crisis.

The role requires a strong understanding of animal behavior, welfare principles, and crisis management strategies. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and maintain positive relationships with external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering animal collection and transportation services from various locations
  • Collaborating with shelters, veterinarians, and foster care providers to develop comprehensive care plans for animals receiving assistance
  • Attending veterinary consultations for animals under our care
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and community members to provide support and guidance
  • Conducting in-home support visits for clients requiring aged-care services
  • Maintaining accurate records of animal health and wellbeing within legislative parameters
  • Conducting on-site risk assessments to ensure animal safety
  • Collaborating with case workers to share updates, concerns, and treatment plans for animals under our care
  • Maintaining open communication with all relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Liaising with external agencies to deliver services to new clients
  • Providing detailed record-keeping of interactions with clients and animals
  • Updating client and animal information on relevant platforms
  • Assisting with monthly output statistics and providing insights into team activities and demand for service
  • Raising awareness about the links between human wellbeing and animal welfare through community engagement and education
  • Delivering presentations to human welfare organizations and similar entities
  • Continuing to build relationships and partnerships to enhance program growth, awareness, and impact
  • Participating in the training of new team members
