Workshop Operations Manager Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Operations Manager to lead our maintenance activities in the Northern Territory.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiencies, managing resources effectively, and providing leadership and supervision through on-the-ground presence, guidance, and feedback to teams and individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion
- Drive efficiency gains through process improvements
- Provide effective leadership and supervision to teams and individuals
- Conduct regular employee performance appraisals, and develop corrective and growth plans as needed
- Resolve conflicts and issues within the crew
- Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance of mobile plant equipment, including fault finding and diagnostics to prevent breakdowns
Role Requirements:
- Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade qualification
- Current driver's license
- Experience in supervisory or management roles
- Experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi mobile equipment
- Experience with Kenworth and Mack Trucks and related gear
- Industry experience in civil/mining sectors with a solid understanding of mobile plant and crushing operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance systems like MEX
- Strong planning, time management, and prioritization skills
- Effective communication skills for liaising with employees, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Willingness to work in remote locations
- Hands-on approach to maintenance tasks
