As a Safety Advocate, you will play a crucial role in providing support and advocacy for women and children affected by family violence. This position emphasizes a culturally sensitive approach to ensure comprehensive assistance is offered to those in need.
Key Responsibilities- Receive referrals and conduct thorough intake and risk assessments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate case management strategies tailored for women and their children.
- Build trust with clients through engagement and provide individualized support as necessary.
- Assist clients in maintaining their safety and well-being.
- Facilitate access to a broad range of information, services, and resources.
- Make seamless referrals to other support services, both internal and external, as required.
- Ensure all case management practices align with the established Family and Domestic Violence Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare verbal and written reports as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree or diploma in Social Services (preferred) or significant relevant experience.
- Cultural competency and established networks within the community.
- Experience in working with family violence issues.
- Familiarity with both survivors of family violence and individuals who perpetrate violence.
- Proven experience with the Family and Domestic Violence Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework.
- A strong commitment to Equal Opportunity principles in all employment and service delivery aspects.
