Construction Advisory & Disputes Professional

Due to an exciting and strong pipeline of work, our team in Sydney and/or Melbourne is looking for a Construction Advisory and Disputes professional to advise on major construction, engineering, energy, and resource projects across Australia and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate construction lawyer to join a growing energy and infrastructure practice.

The role will see you advising clients on issues arising from live projects as well as formal dispute resolution including arbitration, court, mediation, and adjudication.

Candidate Requirements

  • Be a qualified lawyer with three to five years' post-qualification experience (in-house or private practice)
  • Have demonstrated expertise in construction law and dispute resolution
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Be commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced high-performing team and bring energy and passion to the role

About Our Team

Our construction advisory and disputes team works side-by-side with our clients throughout the delivery phase of a project with experience in early analysis of claims, live disputes or distressed projects, adjudication under Security of Payment legislation, arbitration, and litigation (both domestic and international), alternative dispute resolution including expert determination, negotiation, mediation, and dispute review boards, strategic case management, and negotiating the settlement of claims.
