Community Engagement Coordinator Job Opportunity

The position of Community Engagement Coordinator is available in our organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in engaging with the community, providing high-level constituency support, and enabling the Member of Parliament to fulfill their duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with community engagement and stakeholder outreach, including meeting preparation, briefing the Member of Parliament, event logistics, and attendance.
  • Responding to enquiries from constituents, community organizations, and businesses on behalf of the Parliamentarian, including liaising and connecting with government agencies to resolve issues.
  • Providing timely advice to the Member of Parliament on experiences and issues impacting the electorate or having the potential to do so.
  • Managing promotional and communication materials for social and traditional media.
  • Writing speeches and parliamentary electorate statements.
  • Coordinating community grants programs.
  • Organizing regular electorate events.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Understanding local issues, government services, the Government's agenda, and the broader political landscape, or an ability to rapidly learn.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively engage with a broad and diverse range of people across various channels.
  • Strong administrative, office IT, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and exercise accountability, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to work cooperatively to achieve strategic objectives.
