Job Opportunity: Category Supply Manager

The Category Supply Manager plays a pivotal role in implementing and monitoring the supply strategic plan, focusing on volumes, specifications, quality, assured supply, regional risk management, and regional supply to meet customer orders.

This involves working closely with key supply partners, managing relationships, and planning, coordinating, and sourcing products needed to meet category delivery in full on time (DIFOT) targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and monitoring the supply strategic plan
  • Managing relationships with key supply partners
  • Planning, coordinating, and sourcing products for the category
  • Working directly with the sales team to determine cost-effective distribution solutions
  • Monitoring and communicating stock levels internally
  • Researching and providing recommendations on new or potential product lines
  • Supporting the New Product Development team to identify suitable products and ensure successful launches
  • Managing seed/breeding companies and nurseries to improve quality on farm and good in for tomorrow's quality (GIFOTQ)
  • Ensuring efficient allocation and weekly balancing of returnable packaging
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a similar role in fresh produce
  • Solid experience dealing and maintaining relationships with third-party growers
  • Business planning skills and execution capabilities to deliver customer expectations and specifications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • A self-starter who is a team player; pro-active, persuasive, and flexible attitude
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or related discipline; preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel
