We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Domestic Violence Specialist. In this role, you will work with clients who have experienced domestic and family violence, providing intake, counseling, court support, and group work.
Your primary objective will be to identify clients' goals and immediate needs, increasing their safety, agency, and autonomy. You will also advocate on behalf of clients, making suitable referrals and assessing eligibility for assistance.
Key Responsibilities- Completing client intakes, including initial risk assessment and safety planning.
- Providing domestic and family violence counseling, psychoeducation, and group work.
- Supporting clients attending court in relation to domestic and family violence matters.
You will work closely with statutory organizations and departments, utilizing effective communication and interpersonal skills. A high degree of professionalism and integrity is essential when working with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Requirements- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Current QLD Working with Children Check or willingness to apply.
This 12-month contract offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by domestic and family violence.
