Regulatory Leadership Role

The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority seeks an experienced manager with exceptional leadership skills, confident decision-making abilities, and excellent communication skills to lead our Licensing team.

  • Lead the Licensing team to achieve regulatory excellence through effective governance and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote transparency, consistency, and robustness in regulatory practice.
  • Collaborate with regional office teams to ensure seamless delivery of licensing decisions and provide expert advice to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Licensing team.
  • Making complex decisions and providing guidance on regulatory issues while considering legal and policy implications.
  • Oversee recommendations and decisions, ensuring quality, defensibility, and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and maintain relationships within the ECEC sector.
  • Negotiate successful outcomes through co-design and manage relationships in resolving escalated cases.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a regulator or decision-maker with expertise in good administrative decision-making principles.
  • Exceptional time management and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to identify risk and emerging issues and provide solutions.
  • Previous experience managing complex matters and leading a team.
