Job Description

As a seasoned regulatory professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality early childhood education and care services are accessible to children throughout Queensland. The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority is seeking an experienced manager who possesses exceptional communication skills, confident decision-making abilities, and the capacity to drive robust licensing decisions under the National Quality Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Licensing team's regulatory officers within the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority.
  • Make complex decisions and offer advice to senior management on regulatory matters, considering legal and policy implications.
  • Oversee recommendations and decisions, providing high-quality guidance and training to the team to ensure consistency, quality, and defensibility.
  • Guide individuals and the team in applying risk-based regulatory frameworks, identifying issues, and rectifying gaps in guidance and tools.
  • Anticipate risks, respond to emerging trends through data analysis, and develop innovative solutions to drive operational planning and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, maintaining existing networks within the ECEC sector.
  • Negotiate successful outcomes through co-design and manage relationships in resolving conflicts and escalated cases to ensure effective application of the ECEC legislation.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a regulator or decision maker, adhering to the principles of good administrative decision making.
  • Excellent time management and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to identify risks and emerging issues, providing advice and solutions.
  • Previous experience managing a team and complex matters.
