Cost Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled finance professional to join our team in Cairns, Australia. As a Cost Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial and accounting procedures for our projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Compile and review monthly project reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Obtain relevant financial reporting from our Project management system to develop end-of-month forecasts and reports.
  • Review and analyze operating results in relation to costs, budgets, and operational policies.

In this role, you will be responsible for establishing effective financial systems, accounting records, reports, and other information, enabling senior management to make informed business decisions and enhance profitability.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Audit the procurement process to ensure that all requisitions and related invoices are authorized by the designated person.
  • Verify project wage employee remuneration, including timesheets.
  • Interpret financial results and provide recommendations for cost control and profit improvement.
  • Collaborate with external auditors as required.
  • Contribute to the training of finance and project staff.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships through proactive communication to keep key personnel informed.
