Position Purpose:
This position is a dual role which is predominately based doing the organisations financial work with some program finance work within the Leaving Violence Program. The primary focus of the role is to support the Finance Manager in performing the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.
This position works closely with the Leaving Violence Program Finance Officer and assists with the financial obligations of the program. The role is based within the corporate team and will assist from time to time with any tasks that they may require assistance with.
The Opportunity:
• This position is a full-time, Cairns based maternity leave position until the end of February 2026.
• Undertake financial activities which may require the employee to exercise judgment and/or contribute critical knowledge and skills.
• Fulfill a range of financial tasks associated with program delivery, processing of payments, services delivered and staying within capped budget / funding per client.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of all payment transactions, contributing to regular monitoring and reporting requirements to meet desired performance outcomes.
• Contribute to the development of financial work methods and the setting of outcomes. However, these must be within the clear objectives of the organisation and within budgetary constraints.
• Provide financial and administrative support of a complex nature and assistance to senior employees to maintain accurate records.
• Apply computer programming knowledge and skills in systems development, maintenance and implementation:
• Ensure financial records are kept up to date in the CDS software and electronic files with all relevant client documentation.
• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the organization (payroll, invoicing and other transactions).
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Purchase requisitions / orders and invoices
• Maintain confidentiality and duty of care at all times.
About You:
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Demonstrated advanced computer skills and use of relevant technology, specifically MYOB and excel
• Have financial experience in the same or similar role and qualifications in finance and/or accounting would be advantageous.
• Team player with proactive attitude
• Attention to detail, organisation and time-management skills
• A collaborative approach to work and an eagerness to support your team in achieving common goals
