Electrical Field Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Field Engineer to provide project field engineering specialization and expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

  • Responsibilities

    1. Provide project field engineering specialization and expertise.
    2. Prepare construction drawings and sketches.
    3. Lead preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensure preparation of 'as built' drawings and other job plans.
    4. Prepare, review, and approve Electrical work packages.
    5. Implement project specifications and procedures, applicable codes, and drawings to ensure that construction installation requirements are met.
    6. Perform in-progress and final quality and completeness inspections of Electrical and Instrumentation installation.
    7. Material Management
      • Initiate requisitions for field purchases.
      • Prepare quantity takeoffs of field-purchased material and equipment.
      • Review material receiving reports and perform material receiving inspections.
    8. Quantities
      • Verify commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
      • Report on daily and weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
    9. Safety / Quality Control
      • Ensure zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
      • Perform quality control inspections and manage associated Inspection and Test Records (ITRs).
      • Ensure completed work packages and ITRs are submitted to Turnover.
    10. Technical
      • Proactively consider continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
    • Oil & Gas or LNG Project construction experience assigned as Electrical Field Engineer.
    • Direct Hire Experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.
Required Skills
  • Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including Setroute, TEAMWorks, Aconex, DSCS, and Unifier.
  • Understanding of Electrical Equipment Hazardous Areas (EEHA) and related Australian Standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
