Job Description for PRN Mammography Technologist

The role of a PRN Mammography Technologist involves performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams utilizing advanced 2D/3D equipment. This requires collecting thorough patient history and information to provide an accurate clinical history for the interpreting Radiologist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mammogram exams on patients as needed.
  • Collect patient history, prior films/reports, and supportive information required for accurate diagnosis.
  • Conduct Quality Control (QC) as per FDA/ACR regulations to ensure high-quality imaging services.
  • Provide support to other modalities in the center by collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Manage and communicate imaging results and reminders to patients through letters and follow-up actions.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; however, an associate's degree is preferred.
  • Certificate from a reputable college or technical school.
  • Completion of a state-approved Mammography Program.
  • ARRT (M) certification in mammography.
  • State license, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Initial requirements must be met under MQSA standards.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential for this role.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities are necessary for handling diverse responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and software is required for efficient work operations.
Physical Demands:

The position entails exposure to strong magnetic fields. There may be exposure to blood/body fluids and infectious disease risks. Regularly sit, stand, walk, and engage in repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, carry, and lift patients, but with proper precautions and assistance when necessary.
