Job Overview

The Manager will oversee the Carer Assessment and Placement team, ensuring safe, stable homes for vulnerable children.

This role leads carer recruitment, assessments, authorisations, training, and placement matching to meet legislative standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Carer Assessment & Placement Team, managing daily operations and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice standards.
  • Review and approve documentation, manage referrals, and make placement decisions prioritising safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the CAP Team, including Foster Carer Recruitment Consultant, Intake Worker, and Carer Assessments & Placements Co-Ordinators.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, partners, and agencies to promote safety and permanency while supporting a positive experience for prospective carers.
  • Contribute to the leadership, culture, and professionalism in the region.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline with commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • NSW Driver Licence and National Criminal History Check clearance.
  • Registered Assessor, ACWA Step by Step 2016, or willingness to obtain.
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection Act.
