Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and confident leader to oversee carer recruitment, assessments, authorisations, training, and placement matching in our Permanency Support Program.

This pivotal role requires excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with carers, the NSW Department of Communities & Justice, and other stakeholders.

You will need to balance empathy with clear communication and strong decision-making to ensure children's safety and wellbeing.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the CAP Team through effective individual and group supervision, tasking, reviewing and approving documentation, placement referrals, and placement matching.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development, ensuring practice knowledge and skills are contemporary, ethical and evidence-based.
  • Collaborate closely with partner agencies and community stakeholders to promote safety and permanency for vulnerable children and young people.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Welfare, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to balance empathy with firm decision-making when working with carers who present complex needs.
