We are seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. Ideally, you will have experience in designing water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations, and conveyance pipelines. Your tasks may include reviewing design requirements, conducting site investigations, performing calculations, modelling, overseeing drafting, and preparing reports and specifications.

You will develop strong client relationships, demonstrating your ability to understand their business needs. You will provide tailored solutions and services to clients both on and off-site.

About You

You seek autonomy, career flexibility, and a role that provides purpose and relevance. With excellent communication skills and the ability to influence successful project outcomes, you have gained experience working in consulting environments delivering projects within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, and operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes
  • Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify project and design related risks
  • Experience in managing small to medium engineering design projects
  • A commitment to working safely and adhering to the company's HSEQ systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse audiences
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required by the job
