Water Treatment Plant Designer
About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Lead Water Design Engineer to join our team in Newcastle. As a key member, you will be responsible for delivering water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations, and conveyance pipelines.
Main Responsibilities- Design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations, and conveyance pipelines
- Review design requirements, site investigations, calculations, modeling, and oversight of drafting
- Prepare technical reports and specifications for clients
- Build strong client relationships and demonstrate ability to understand client needs
- Provide solutions and services to clients both on- and off-site
- Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
- Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, and operational practices, as well as relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes
- Ability to identify project and design-related risks
- Experience in managing small to medium-sized engineering design projects
- A commitment to working safely within company HSEQ systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various audiences
