Job Summary

This role involves working as a key member of an underground metalliferous mining team, responsible for developing and implementing practical and safety-focused strategies to drive production efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with others in a dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing weekly production and development schedules, followed by ongoing tracking and updating of a rolling 7-day plan.
  • Collaborating with the Shift Supervisor in daily planning activities to ensure operations follow the short-term schedule.
  • Conducting underground inspections of production areas to enable efficient operation and planning.
  • Completing engineering tasks such as drill and blast design, production plans, survey, and monthly reporting.
  • Tracking daily, weekly, and monthly production and development activities and determining compliance against forecast.
  • Undertaking geotechnical inspections and minor rehabilitation plans to address geotechnical issues/hazards.
  • Liaising with the Geology Department regarding latest data and new information from underground operations.
About You
  • A degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • A commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • At least two years' experience as a Mining Engineer (preferably with underground time completed).
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a small but focused operations team.
  • A high level of understanding of underground mining activities.
  • Experience with relevant mine design software packages.
