Job Title: Assistant Manager

Job Description:
  • Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and staff supervision.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and motivating dedicated teams to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Manage the nightfill team within the scope of ordinary hours of work.
  • Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising team to maintain consistency and foster effective communication.
  • Create a welcoming and joyful in-store atmosphere, ensuring customers consistently enjoy a positive shopping experience.
  • Ensure that ticketing and signage standards align with established guidelines.
  • Take responsibility for all markdown and markup tasks, ensuring efficient execution on designated days or as directed by the Store Manager.
  • Promptly report any non-scanning items or suspected pricing discrepancies to the relevant department.
  • Operate essential equipment required for effective ticketing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a toy store or a related industry.
  • Proven track record in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating strong organisational and managerial skills.
  • Passion for toys, with extensive knowledge of the latest toy trends, brands, and popular products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenging situations with composure and professionalism.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
