About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Banking and Finance Lawyer to join our team at Montgomery Advisory. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients with a full range of banking and finance transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transactional Advice and Document Management: Deliver and manage transactional advice and documents for multiple products, including debtor, equipment, property, and trade finance, to meet new client and existing client needs.
  • Signing Off New Business Transactions: Sign off new business transactions and variations, including directly advising senior underwriters on legal issues requiring credit approval.
  • Negotiating Facility and Security Documents: Negotiate facility and security documents, ensuring that our clients' interests are protected.
  • Drafting and Structuring Facility and Security Documents: Draft and structure facility and security documents, taking into account the specific needs of our clients.
  • Drafting Ancillary Template Legal Documents: Draft ancillary template legal documents to be used in connection with our various finance products.
  • Reviewing and Advising on Confidentiality Agreements: Review and advise on confidentiality agreements, ensuring that our clients' confidential information is protected.
  • Managing the Legal Inbox and PPSR Registration Issues: Manage the legal inbox and provide legal advice on PPSR registration issues to ensure that our clients have enforceable securities with the priority required.
  • Providing General Advice to Internal Corporate Teams: Provide general advice to internal corporate teams on various procurement matters, including Tech agreements, M&A opportunities, and implementation, Litigation, broker introducer agreements, and project work.
  • Ensuring Effective Legal File and Transaction Management: Ensure effective legal file and transaction management by the Legal Team and adherence to processes by the Legal Team and the business.
  • Providing Peer Support and Training: Provide peer support and training to Legal team members and the business on legal issues and processes.
About You

We are seeking a Banking and Finance Lawyer with between 1 and 3 years' post-admission experience. You will also have:

  • Strong Understanding of Company and Commercial Matters: A strong understanding of company and commercial matters, contract law, and the PPSA.
  • Desire to Develop Expertise in Receivables, Trade & Asset Finance: A desire to develop expertise in receivables, trade, and asset finance.
