
Heavy Machinery Parts Specialist

This role involves procuring parts for internal repairs and assisting with project site procurements as needed. Coordinating pickups and deliveries, managing inventory, purchasing, and invoicing are key responsibilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with workshop managers, mechanics, and admin staff.
Key tasks include:
- Continuous improvement of safe work practices.
- Participation in all toolbox meetings.
- Working within established workshop rules and regulations.
- Liaising daily with the Operations Manager, workshop managers, and supervisors.
- Purchasing parts and consumables to supply workshops and techs in the field.
- Allocating parts and consumables to correct assets through a purchase order system.
- Meeting tight schedules while maintaining high standards.
- Adopting Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all parts and consumables.
- Reducing waste through incorrect parts and implementing a strict return policy for unused items.
- Planning and maintaining stock levels for critical parts and consumables to meet workshop repair needs daily.
- Maintaining an organised and clean parts and warehouse environment with regular stock takes.
- Picking up parts from local suppliers and arranging freight as needed for buy ins.
A commitment to continuous improvement is essential, along with a mindset of best practice and professional communication skills.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
- Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety.
- Current driver's license.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Strong Parts interpreting skills, with experience in Heavy Machinery preferred but not essential.
- Sound knowledge of Heavy Machinery and Plant preferred but not essential.
- Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done.
- Approachable and willing to help attitude.
- Team player with action-focused and result-oriented approach.
- Ability to problem solve and engage peers to achieve best possible outcomes.
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with various individuals.
- Experience in working in a high-performance team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, with some overtime required.
