Job Title: Full-Time Chef – Mont Albert
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef to join our team at Il Sogno in Mont Albert. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Italian dishes to cater to a wide range of customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development and Planning: Design and plan diverse menus featuring Italian cuisine, ensuring a wide range of options for customers.
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality Italian dishes, adhering to food safety and hygiene practices in accordance with industry standards.
- Quality Control: Ensure all dishes meet our quality standards, monitoring presentation, taste, and freshness.
- Inventory Management: Manage food stock, monitor ingredient freshness, and coordinate orders to minimize waste and ensure the kitchen is well-stocked and organized.
- Kitchen Supervision: Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient teamwork and compliance with kitchen safety protocols.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to understand preferences, receiving feedback to continuously improve our offerings.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas, ensuring a safe work environment.
Requirements:
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent in substantial experience.
Minimum 1.5-2 years of experience as a chef, preferably in Italian cuisine.
Skills and Requirements:
- Proven ability in food preparation, cooking, and presentation, with a solid understanding of Italian or western ingredients, and Mediterranean cooking requirements.
- Skilled at reading and interpreting a broad range of recipes, including special dietary and cultural cuisine requirements.
- Competent in using kitchen technology and equipment, including ovens, grills, and food processors, to prepare ingredients and cook meals efficiently.
- Capable of maintaining composure and delivering high-quality dishes during peak hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Adept at managing and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely preparation and service, meeting both customer and management expectations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and communicate dish details and customization options effectively.
- Enthusiastic about food preparation, presentation, and constantly improving skills to enhance the dining experience.
