Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $400,000. We offer greater take-home pay through generous salary packaging for living expenses, meals, and holiday accommodation. Job Description

This role involves working as a Plastic Surgeon within our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit. The unit specialises in microsurgical reconstruction for breast, head and neck cancer, as well as upper limb reanimation in tetraplegic patients. You will be part of a team of 15 attending Plastic Surgeons, with opportunities for teaching, training, and research.



Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensuring all theatre lists/clinics have appropriate cover, across all sites where Austin Health provides plastic & reconstructive surgery services.
  2. Demonstrating a commitment to high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with peer medical, junior medical, nursing, and other clinical staff.
  3. Demonstrating a commitment to teaching, training, and research, contributing to the growth and development of the team.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:



  • Registration with the Medical Board of Victoria (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship Certificate from a Specialist Medical College
  • Completed specialist training in an accredited Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery program, including exit exams
  • Demonstrated clinical practice at a high standard, with experience in microsurgery and clinical research desirable
