**Job Title:** Information Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Information Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the release of information held by Forensicare in accordance with applicable legislation.

About the Role:

The Information Management Specialist coordinates and manages the release of information held by Forensicare in accordance with applicable legislation, including the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic) and other relevant laws.

  • Acts as a decision-maker for FOI requests, managing requests for personal, health, and corporate information.
  • Provides expert advice on FOI administration, guidelines, and processes.
  • Drafts correspondence, reports, and briefings related to FOI matters.
  • Mentors, trains, and develops team members.
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to resolve FOI issues.
  • Represents Forensicare in FOI forums and contributes to policy development.
  • Develops and delivers FOI training and awareness programs.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

  • To manage and coordinate the release of information held by Forensicare.
  • To provide expert advice on FOI administration, guidelines, and processes.
  • To draft correspondence, reports, and briefings related to FOI matters.
  • To mentor, train, and develop team members.
  • To liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve FOI issues.
Requirements:

The successful candidate will require:

  • A relevant qualification in law, information management, or data protection.
  • Knowledge of the FOI Act 1982 (Vic) and related regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply the FOI Act in complex scenarios.
  • Knowledge of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic), and preferably the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
  • Experience managing information release processes in compliance with legislation.
