Job Description

Mine accountants play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of mining operations. This includes preparing monthly management accounts and reporting for mine sites, stewardship of the general ledger, and utilisation of Business Intelligence systems to prepare insightful reporting and understand business performance.


This involves completing month-end processes, annual budgeting and mid-year forecasts, using Enterprise Resource Planning ledgers, and generating reporting and insights through Business Intelligence systems such as IBM Planning and Analytics. The role will also be responsible for assisting auditors with providing information.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present management accounting reports, including monthly mine site reporting and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support audit requirements during hard close, half and full year audit processes, and joint venture accounting and reporting.
  • Manage the general ledger for company codes, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses.
  • Develop expertise in Pulse (ERP) and TM1 (Business Intelligence software).
  • Participate in testing system updates.
