Job Description

The Deputy Director of Research is responsible for overseeing research activities across the hospital, including the promotion and facilitation of research, development of research opportunities, and educational services. They will ensure that the research community understands and abides by its obligations under various Federal and State legislation, including guidelines, codes, and standards governing human research.

The successful applicant will participate in planning and implementing the annual Research Directorate Operational Plan, ensuring that the Research Directorate meets relevant targets set in the Strategic Plan. They will also develop, monitor, and manage the Research Governance Unit budget and work with the Research Director to identify new revenue streams.

Additional responsibilities include managing the secretariat support of research-related committees, providing advice on ethical, legal, and insurance requirements, and developing policy and guidelines within the institution.
