Our organization seeks a Deputy Director of Research to lead and develop high-quality research services.

About the Role

This role is designed for an individual with exceptional leadership skills, who can develop and implement operational plans that meet strategic objectives.

  • The successful candidate will participate in the planning and implementation of the annual operational plan, ensuring all targets are met.
  • They will be responsible for managing administrative staff and coordinating budget development.

A strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills, this individual will establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the provision of research services, including grants, events, education, and promotion.
  • Managing secretariat support for Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC), Animal Ethics Committee, and Institutional Biosafety Committee.
  • Providing expert advice on matters related to ethics, legal requirements, and insurance.

As a key member of our team, this individual will play a critical role in driving the success of our research initiatives.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized professional with a background in research management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and monitoring budgets, identifying new revenue streams, and working closely with the Research Director.
  • Coordinating events, workshops, and training programs to enhance research capabilities.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and research institutions.
