Exploring Opportunities in Oceanography Research

The UNSW Climate Change Research Centre is a multi-disciplinary research centre that houses expertise in atmospheric dynamics, physical oceanography, and terrestrial processes.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced researchers on projects related to physical oceanography, atmospheric dynamics, and air-sea interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in physical oceanography, atmospheric dynamics, or air-sea interactions
  • Manage and analyse data from ocean, atmosphere, or coupled models
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with researchers and industry partners
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement research projects

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent qualification in physical oceanography, atmospheric dynamics, or physical climate science
  • Experience in running and analysing output from ocean, atmosphere, or coupled models
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Programming skills in a Unix/Linux environment (e.g. Fortran, shell scripts, NCL, R, Python, MATLAB)

This position offers a fixed term appointment for two years with the possibility of extension. We offer a competitive salary package, including superannuation and leave loading, and a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
