Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the onsite maintenance, diagnostics and breakdowns on a wide variety of surface mining equipment.

The Karara site is the largest mining operation in the Mid-West and produces a premium high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers. Our site has an expected life of 30+ years and will underpin a long-term iron ore business, providing sustainable benefits to the regional community where we operate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting scheduled maintenance, workshop, diagnostics and breakdowns on a wide variety of surface mining equipment
  • Maintaining and repairing complex machinery and equipment
  • Working closely with the onsite team to ensure safe and efficient operations
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Australian Manual Drivers Licence
  • Australian/NZ Recognised Trade Certificate
  • Tickets and licences (e.g. Forklift, Rigging, Crane)
  • Minimum 3 years post-trade experience (MEM)
  • Experience with CAT 6060, CAT 793F Haul Trucks, Hitachi EX5600 Excavators, Komatsu WA900-8 Loaders
  • Demonstrated behaviours that align with NRW's values and safety standards
