Senior Aboriginal Health Worker Opportunity

This is a permanent full-time position working in Palliative Care. The successful candidate will work with clinicians, community-based service providers, patients and families to promote respectful and culturally appropriate palliative and end-of-life care for Aboriginal people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide non-clinical services including cultural and medical advocacy
  • Promote respectful and culturally appropriate palliative and end-of-life-care for Aboriginal people
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, community-based service providers, patients and families
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications relating to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Care
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people in relation to illness, grief and loss and Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing
  • Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and personal resilience
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' license and the ability to maintain
