Job Opportunity

This is a part-time, fixed-term position for a Student Counsellor in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs.

  • Key responsibilities include providing professional student support services, including counselling and therapy to students.

The role involves working with the wellbeing team to deliver capability building and awareness raising activities for staff on key mental health and wellbeing issues affecting the school’s student population.

  • Implementing prevention and promotion strategies to improve student mental health and wellbeing.
  • Coordinating supports for young people with complex needs, including referrals to specialist services as appropriate.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Highly developed counselling skills and experience in counselling children presenting with a range of issues.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth, and the appropriate qualifications to perform the roles and duties of an ES-Range 3 staff member in a counselling role.
