Job Overview

In this role, you will partner with leaders to interpret legislation and mitigate risk. Responsibilities include:

  • Compliance & Legislation
  • Ensure legally compliant enterprise practices.
  • Proactively identify, advise on and manage compliance risks.
  • Advisory & Risk Management
  • Provide clear, strategic advice on employment matters, including litigation and disputes.
  • Advice and representation in employment litigation.
  • Support the resolution of disputes, balancing operational, commercial, and reputational risks.
  • Mitigate the risk of underpayments and ensure payroll compliance.

About You

We are looking for a solutions-focused lawyer with expertise in employment law. You thrive on translating complex legal frameworks into practical advice and are ready to partner with a business that values both compliance and innovation.

Key requirements include:

  • A minimum of 5 years post-admission experience as a qualified lawyer.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, including operation of awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Demonstrable understanding of legal principles and judicial procedures.
  • Proven experience in commercial negotiations and providing strategic legal advice.
  • Commercial mindset with experience in change management.
  • Experience with payroll systems and compliance, preferably including Kronos.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
