Job Description

As a teacher at an alternative education school, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential and reengage with learning. The school provides a supportive environment where students can thrive and reach their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development:
  • Create and deliver programs aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Classroom Effectiveness:
  • Enhance classroom effectiveness through professional engagement to achieve improved teaching and learning standards.
  • Resource Utilization:
  • Use time and resources effectively to deliver lessons aligned to students' individual learning and pathway plans.
  • Culture Promotion:
  • Promote the school's alternative education model and strengths-based approach to achieve student goals and outcomes.

As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a small group to implement feedback and participate in coaching and mentoring programs.

You will also be responsible for providing timely and specific feedback to support learning growth (formative assessment), assessing and reporting student achievement and progress, and building positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.

The school operates in areas of socio-economic disadvantage, working with students who have found it difficult to engage with mainstream education.
