Job Title: Permanent Full-Time Commis Chef

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our team at Highways in Springvale. This ideal opportunity is perfect for kitchen professionals looking to kickstart their career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to cooking guidelines and set standards.
  • Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks, including food assembly and plating.
  • Maintain control and leadership in the kitchen during service times in allocated sections.
  • Ensure food safety procedures are followed and maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
Requirements:
  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Experience working in a pub/bistro fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of fundamental cooking methods and recipe execution
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Full working rights in Australia
