Job Title: Senior Legal Correspondent

">Job Overview

We are seeking a driven and experienced legal correspondent to lead our coverage of the legal sector. The successful candidate will focus on key firms, legal personalities, their performance, significant movements, and major court decisions and appointments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Break news on big firms, including financial performance, strategic/personnel changes, legal policy issues and misconduct.
  • Cover the broader professional services sector as required.
  • Work with various story formats, from live blogs to long-form features and newsletters.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts throughout the legal sector.
  • Collaborate with other journalists and editors on coverage plans and projects.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date coverage.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a journalist.
  • Legal training, experience and/or contacts would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong writing skills across various formats, including news and features.
  • Experience working as a team player, preferably within a newsroom environment.
  • Experience in digital article production, or a willingness to learn.
