Employment Specialist Role

In this position, you will work closely with individuals to identify and achieve their career objectives, providing personalized support and guidance throughout the employment process. Your role will involve understanding each person's strengths and aspirations, offering tailored solutions, connecting them to relevant opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders to open doors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Finding and creating job opportunities that match clients' needs and abilities.
  • Promoting inclusive employment practices and workforce diversity, focusing on people with disabilities, injuries, or health conditions.
  • Building relationships with employers to address skill shortages through innovative recruitment strategies.
  • Mentoring clients in gaining work experience to develop their skills and assess compatibility with potential employers.
  • Preparing workplaces to accommodate and retain clients by making adjustments and providing disability confidence training.
  • Facilitating employer training to enhance disability awareness and inclusion.
  • Establishing a network of employers and community partners to create job opportunities.
  • Raising awareness about your organization as a trusted provider supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their career goals.
  • Achieving internal and external performance benchmarks.
  • Promoting your organization's values of inclusivity, empowerment, and person-centered practice.
About You:

You possess empathy, energy, and a strong drive to make a positive impact. You may have experience or a genuine passion for employment services. You're confident in supporting individuals, building trust, and guiding them into meaningful careers.

Essential Criteria:
  • Qualifications in Employment or Human Services - desirable.
  • Proven ability to meet KPIs and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong understanding of employment barriers faced by people with disabilities, injuries, or health conditions.
  • Skilled in providing tailored support and developing client-focused employment plans.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current Driver's License - essential.
